Fighting with the GI Bill people

Some times I wonder why people even do some of the jobs they are doing... I understand people at times do not like their job.. there is always those days... but come on... the last few times I have called these people nothing but attitude... hello! I am calling for money I was promised... I am not being rude there is not reason you need to be.

I called simply to check on my status on my payments.. the guy was rude and obnoxious and would not even give me a time frame to when payments will be processed or if my claim is being processed... he said "they looked at it" that dose not help me... I asked for his supervisor and he said "you can talk to all of them, like I care" you serious dude? people WISH they had at least a job and you are probably getting paid good to sit and be rude to people.... so I got to hold forever for a supervisor.

After talking to the supervisor at the VA I got that these people can't do a damn thing... its just a CALL CENTER... but he did fill me in a bit more. If you applied the normal wait time to have your claim processed (or certification) takes an "average" of 6 weeks... the thing is though... your payments, depending on how many people and how many payments need to be disbursed, it can take 3 days or three weeks to see any money. My advice is to get a part time job because if you have a break between semesters and your paperwork has not been sent in then there is a chance you will not get paid that week and you amount will be pro-rated and you will be missing a weeks worth of pay... whenever you get paid again. So PUSH you school and push them hard to have you put in for certification right after you enroll for your classes to give ample time for payments to get to you.

Thinks to make sure you do/have:

1. Part time job to hold you over on a rainy day
2. get certified right away - so harass your School VA person till they give in like I did
3. save save save
4. leave the call center people alone because the only thing they can do is check your status on if they have opened your file or not
